Starting January 1, 2010 when it is time to renew your SD driver’s license or when you get your first SD driver’s license you must stay one night in a campground or motel and show a receipt to the driver’s license office. You can do this in any city in the state that issues license. Each person obtaining or renewing a driver license should have their name printed on the receipt.   The receipt should show 3700 South Westport Ave, Sioux Falls, SD as your address. You will STILL put your address at Alternative Resources on your license. This puts SD in compliance with the Federal REAL ID ACT.

* Address requirement: Your Personal Mailbox Address does not qualify as a residential address for the purpose of voting.
